Mary L. Patchin (Zappone), 53, of Holland, OH passed away on Satuday, July 7, 2018, surrounded by loved ones in her home, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Mary was born to Anthony and Linda L. (Estep) Zappone on October 3, 1964. In 1983, Mary graduated from Springfield High School, where she was very active in cheerleading. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart Paul D. Patchin on November 26, 1988.
Nothing was more beautiful to her than freshly fallen snow. Where many would only see emptiness, Mary saw a chance at a new beginning. With a heart of gold, unwavering faith, and unrivaled perseverance, Mary was truly a mother figure to all. She dedicated her life to healing others as an L.P.N. at Northwest Ohio Developmental Center, where she worked for over 15 years. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. Mary loved camping with her family and dreamed of retiring in Michigan by the lake.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Todd Patchin.
Mary is survived by her husband of 30 years, Paul; daughter, Brittany (Robert); grandchildren, Amaya, Angelina and Deanna; siblings, Anthony, Lynn and Michelle; nephews, Nathan and James; niece, Jaylyn; mother-in-law, Carol (Verne); brother-in-law, Robert (Carolyn); sister-in-law, Melissa (Jeff); best friend and fellow nurse Adrianne; and numerous other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 Main St. Sylvania, OH 43560 from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 where funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, July 12, 2018 with Brother David Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
