Obituary

Mary Lou Brown passed away peacefully in her home on October 21, 2019, in Sylvania, Ohio at the age of 73 with her family by her side.

Mary was born on October 25, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio to the late John W. Ogle and Verla L. (Haynes) Ogle. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1963, after which she began taking college-level communication technology courses. Mary worked several jobs throughout her life to support her family, including working as an administrative secretary for Toledo Edison in 1984 before taking another secretarial position at Flower Hospital in 1997. She worked in the radiology department from 1999 until her retirement in 2011. She married the love of her life, Norman Brown, in 1977.

Her family remembers her as a selfless individual who always put others first. Mary treasured her time spent with her family. She loved hosting family dinners, making her famous strawberry jelly, and starting many fun traditions that those who love her will continue for years to come. Mary enjoyed spending time in Clark Lake, Michigan and Daytona Beach, Florida. When she wasn’t collecting shells at the beach, she enjoyed dining out, playing euchre, going to the casino, watching the latest movies, and dancing. She was a past member of Central Christian Church and Boulevard Church of Christ. She was most recently a member of McCord Road Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Norm Brown; children, Jenni (Edward) Riebe, Sue (Jeff) Coleman, and Greg (Rhonda) Moore; sister, Sharon Mihalis; step-children, Paul Brown, Suzanne Brown, and Pam (Brad) Skiles; grandchildren, Cody Riebe, Brienne (Derek) Winans, Sydni Coleman, Nick Coleman, Amber (Cory) Sosbe, Robert Ries Jr., Kennedy Skiles, Thomas Brown, Austin Moore, and Abby Moore; great-grandchild, Harper Sosbe; and many other family members and dear friends.
