Mark Forgach Obituary

Mark Lawrence Forgach, 46, of Sylvania, Ohio, joined our heavenly Father on December 9, 2019 after a courageous fight with brain cancer.

Mark was born on October 14, 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Lawrence and Lynn (Jarus) Forgach.  He was a 1992 graduate of St. Ignatius High School.  Mark continued his Jesuit education at John Carroll University earning a business degree in 1996.  He then graduated from Cleveland State University in 1999 with a Master of Business Administration.  Mark went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Toledo in 2003.

He married Julie (Smolen) Forgach on July 19, 1997 at John Carroll University’s chapel, where they met.  They spent 22 faith-filled years of marriage together, and have four beautiful children: Molly, Heidi, Mara, and Colin.

Mark was employed as Production Manager at Kuka Toledo Production Operations, where he had a true passion for his work and the people he worked with.  Mark will be remembered as a fair and compassionate leader who kept everyone laughing.

Mark loved to pay it forward by giving his time and talent.  With a passion for woodworking, pouring concrete, and woodcutting, he loved volunteering and helping others.  He never met a project that he didn’t like.  Mark was an active member of the St. Joseph Parish, Sylvania where he served as Festirama Chairman. Mark lived up to his Jesuit conviction, “Men for others”.

He is survived by his parents, wife, four children, and siblings: Jeff (Lauren) and Brian (Erin); and nieces and nephews Emily, Benjamin, Charlotte, and Kyle.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 Main St. in Sylvania, Ohio, Sunday, December 15th from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Monday, December 16th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main St. Sylvania, OH 43560.  Mark will be laid to rest with a private ceremony at Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson, Ohio.
