Marjorie Luise Koch Hartkopf left this world peacefully on October 22, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She lived her life independently and fully until less than two days before her death. Marjorie was a long-term resident of Sylvania, Ohio and loved her town. She loved her family, friends, gardening, and her dogs. She traveled extensively, often visiting her family in Germany. She was an active member of Glenwood Lutheran Church, the German American Festival (GAF), past president of the Alpha Chapter of Junior Coterie, and past volunteer at Flower Hospital. After graduating from DeVilbiss High School in 1950, she attended the University of Toledo and later attended when she was in her 40’s. She is preceded in death by her husband Alfred Heinz Hartkopf, parents Wilhelm and Luise Koch, and step mother Dorothy Burkhart Dettinger Koch. She is survived by her children Alfred Heinz Hartkopf, Junior (Kerry), Lisa Hartkopf Smith (Gary), brother in law Hans Hartkopf, and brothers Jim and Bob Dettinger. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Alie Hartkopf, Wilhelm Hartkopf, Eric Hartkopf, Anna Pei Smith, and Peter Smith. A special thank you to Marie Diehl, who through her help many seniors are able to live independently. A celebration of Margie’s life will be held Saturday, October 27 at Glenwood Lutheran Church 2545 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am with a service following. Burial will follow at the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Glenwood Lutheran Church. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
