John Roland Pierce

John R. “Rollie” Pierce, 73, of Sylvania, OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Ebeid Hospice Residence, surrounded by loving family.  He was born in  Toledo, OH to Willbert L. & Lillian A. (Mills) Pierce.

Rollie was a devoted 40 year member of Olivet Lutheran Church. He was just shy of his 50th wedding anniversary with Shari.  Rollie was a Masonic Top Officer of the Sylvania Blue Pyramid Lodge, the Royal Arch Masons,  Council, Commander and was also Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter 341.  

John is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, children; Peggy (Russ) Kamin, Nancy (Bob) Schultz, brother; Mark “Bill” (Linda) Pierce, grandchildren; Maria (Andrew) Holland, Christian Howard, Samantha Howard, Nate Schultz, Cate Schultz, son-in-law; Jim Howard and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lucy Ketron.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, OH from 3pm – 8pm.  There will be a Masonic Service held at  7:00pm, followed by an Eastern Star Service.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 12pm at Olivet Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior.  Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
