Herman H. Kleindienst, 87, a lifelong resident of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. Herman was born in Ottawa Lake, February 11, 1930 to parents Harold and Margaret Kleindienst, and they preceded him in death.
Herman was employed with the Toledo Concrete Pipe Company for more than 44 years retiring in 1989. He was proud to have served with the United States Army during the Korean War. Harold was an avid hunter and fisherman, always enjoying the time spent on their property in Tawas, MI. He was a Life Member of the Ottawa Lake Sportsman’s Club and the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Toledo Turners and the Franklin Park Walk and Talk Club.
Herman is survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was recently preceded in death by his loving wife Florence who passed in 2016.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home Monday April 17th from 4 – 7 PM, where the Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Temperance, MI, Tuesday at 11 AM, where Harold’s body will lie in state one hour prior. He will be laid to rest beside Florence at St. Anthony Cemetery, with military honors.
