Genevieve Julia Ruch

Genevieve Julia Ruch went to be home with her Lord Jesus Christ on July 26, 2019 (90), surrounded by her loving family at her residence, Rosary Care Center in Sylvania, Ohio. She was born July 3, 1929, to Alfred J. and Theresa E. Snyder.

Genevieve graduated from Waite High School in 1947 and married Richard Carl Ruch in 1949. They were married for 52 years before he passed away in 2001. She worked for the Sylvania City Schools for 18 years and retired in 1981. She was a charter member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Sylvania, Ohio where she taught Sunday School and faithfully served on the Women’s Guild.  She served as a Scouts' den mother and she took up quilting, having made many quilts for her children and grandchildren. She also loved doing crossword puzzles.  

Genevieve is survived by her sons, Rich (Chris), Ron (Joyce), Jim; daughter, Carol (Dave) Del Signore; grandchildren, Jason, Jonathan, Jeremy, Jennifer, Chad, Erin, Stacy, Crystl, Cori, Chance, Torie and Cate; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; brothers, Lewis, Don, George, and Ralph; sisters, Ila and Audrey; sons, David (Angie) and Walter (Sandy).

Friends and family are invited to visit Sunday, July 28, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main Street, Sylvania, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29, at 1:00 p.m. at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6517 Brint Road, Sylvania, Ohio.

The family would like to express their thanks for the loving care that their mom received at Rosary Care Center in Sylvania for the past six years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to King of Glory Lutheran Church or the Rosary Care Center.
