Edward “Jake” J. Vollmar, age 88, passed away, Friday, October 12, 2018 at his Toledo residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 6, 1929 in Toledo to Barbara (Kruez) and Charles J. Vollmar. He married the love of his life Zita M. Urban in 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and they have celebrated 67 years of marriage. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years and worked for Lathrop when he retired at age 63 after 20 years of service. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, all his life, where he was an usher. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing, golfing, and he was truly passionate about building and tinkering with wood.
He is survived by his loving wife, Zita, children, Ann, Nancy, Sherry Vollmar, Edward J. (Mary) Vollmar, grandchildren, Ben (Cassy) and Dan Vollmar, step-grandchild, Maria (Simon) Rawson, great grandchildren, Oliver and Laney Vollmar, step-great grandchildren, Grace, Andrew, Emalee, Miriam, David and Jonathan, siblings: Theresa (Harley) Weide, Patricia (Bob) Evans, Alfred “Joe” (Connie) Vollmar, sister-in-law, Karen Vollmar and brother-in-law Jim Winhoven. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Rita M. Grayczyk, Bernadette “Bubs” Winhoven, Charles J. Jr. Donald, and Gerald “Butch” Vollmar.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 17, 2018 with a Rosary Service being recited at 7:30 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at the Little Flower Catholic Church, 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 18, where visitation will be held 1hour prior, entombment following at Resurrection Cemetery.
