Robert Carl Verbon

On June 9, 2017, the greatest man we have ever known, passed through the gates of heaven. Robert C. Verbon, father to Cindy and Lonnie, friend to so many, respected by so many more.

Bob started his early years as a painting contractor. It was through his ambition, dedication and drive that he became a master of his craft and set out to build over 1000 homes in the Toledo area. In between, Bob designed, built and opened the iconic Vagabond's Restaurant and 7 years later, the Embers Dinner and Dance Club. Bob was and always will be a legend of his own time.In later years, he retired in Florida and took on many homes. moving every other year until he settled in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He made yearly trips to Toledo to spend time with family and so many good friends.He will be remembered for all the good he has done. A generous, giving soul who so many benefited from. We've never known a man who carried a bigger heart. We couldn't have asked for a better father. He was and always will be our best friend, our mentor, our guide. We will miss you more than words could say. Our love for you will be etched in our hearts forever.Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.aLeft to honor his memory are his children, Cindy Verbon Cowell, Tim King, Lonnie Verbon, Diane; twin brother, Russel Verbon, Jacque; grandchildren, Jon, Josh, Julie, Corey, Melanie and Kevin; along with 9 great-grandchildren.A gathering to celebrate Bob's life with family and friends will be held at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, Ohio. Sunday, July 9, 2017 from noon to 4 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Toledo Humane Society would be appreciated.
