As all actors eventually must, Martha Beaber exited the stage—the world stage—on October 13th, 2017. Born on August 31st, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she moved all over the United States as a child in conjunction with her father’s military service. This early exposure to different ideas and ways of life likely brought out her gift of being comfortable with, understanding, and befriending most any person she met. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Luther and Martha Baynham; husband, William Beaber; maternal aunt, Willa Wynn; and maternal uncle, Curtis Wynn. She is survived by her son Geoffrey (Theresa); daughter Sarah (Myles Holliday); grandsons Matthew (Santana) and Steven (Kazumi); great-granddaughters Rachel, Revekah, and Raelynn; and great-grandson, Yoshiki. She is survived also by the example she set of diving deep into subjects of personal interest and passion. For Marty (as she was known to friends and close family), this meant the Waterville Playshop, gourmet cooking, Duke University men’s basketball, international travel, dramatic clothing, and every mystery novel she could get her hands on. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Christian Life Center of Olivet Lutheran Church (Sylvania, Ohio) on Saturday, November 11th, 2017, at 11:30 a.m., with a luncheon to follow on site. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation, if you are so called, to a cause you personally hold dear. The family also strongly urges you to play a role of kindness, enthusiasm, and grace during your own time on this world stage, just as Marty did.
