Margaret Macintosh (Young) Potter
August 5, 1922 ~ February 10, 2017 (age 94) 94 Years OldMargaret “Mardy” Potter passed away with her children at her side on Friday, February 10th at Ebeid Hospice Center. She was born on August 5th, 1922 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Scottish immigrants Margaret Macintosh and Thomas Barbour Young.
Mardy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Thomas, Catherine, Lilly, Jessie, Alan, Douglas and Mae Ann. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Donald M. Potter.
Mardy was a very strong willed woman who was all about her family. If stubbornness is a virtue then Mardy was a virtuoso as she lived independently on her own in her own home until a few days before her death. She will be sorely missed by many who knew her, particularly her family.
Left to cherish her memory are children: Kathy(Mark)Wemmer, Janet(Tom)Stonchek, Scott(Judy)Potter, Judy Hamann, and Kelly(Dave)Borgman. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Mardy’s life will held at 11AM on Saturday, February 18th at First United Methodist Church, 7000 Erie St., Sylvania, OH.
