Harold B. Johnson Jr. 85, of Sylvania, OH, passed away, Friday, January 12, 2018, at Flower Hospital. He was born June 15, 1932 in Toledo, OH, to parents Harold B. Sr. and Beatrice B. (Bowman) Johnson, and they preceded him in death. Harold was a 1950 Graduate of Macomber High School. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Harold served as the Production Manager of International Operations for the Surface Combustion Company. A career spanning more than 66 years and 11 trips to Mainland China before retiring in 2016. While at Surface Harold enjoyed playing in the company golf and baseball league.

He was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Toledo. At the church, Harold served twice as Church Council President, was an Assistant Minister and Lay Reader, was a member of countless committees, and was a member of both the Senior Choir and Bell Choir. Harold has been involved with the Toledo Area Ministries, providing personal care items to many needy local families.

He was currently serving as the Treasurer of the Monroe County Genealogy Society, a position held for many years.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Nancy A. Johnson; daughter Debbie; sister Bertha Mae Showman; and brother George S. Johnson Sr.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Thursday, January 18th from 4 – 9 PM. Harold’s Life will be celebrated at the Grace Lutheran Church, Friday the 19th at 11 AM, where his body will lie in state one-hour prior.
