Gary Roger Williams, Sr.  

It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Williams, Sr., announces his passing due to complications from surgery, on Friday, October 6, 2017, at the age of 79 years.  He was surrounded by loved ones as he escaped his earthly bonds.

Gary will be lovingly remembered by: his children Tina Fondren (Pat), Gary Williams, Jr (Chrissy), Jeff Williams (Linda), Sean Curtin (Kimberly) and Shannon Secrist (Kevin) as well as his siblings Keith Williams, Shirley Lane, Dennis Williams (Charlotte) and Gerald Williams (Alice).  Gary will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Ed, Bradley, Dustin, Jordan, Ashley, Erika, Amanda, Jessica, Jeff, Sophia, Riley, Cassidy, Kevin Jr. and Christian as well as 11 great grandchildren. Gary was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Kathy, parents Helen (Terrian) Engle, Keith Williams, sister-in-law Doris Williams, brother-in-law Gerald Lane, son Kevin Curtin and great granddaughter Jaidyn Fondren

Gary was a native of Sault Ste. Marie, lived in Chino, Ca and finally the Toledo, OH area.  He was a construction services entrepreneur, always working hard to provide for his family.  Gary was raised Catholic, but truly developed his faith while a member of the St. Joseph parish.  He worked as a volunteer for the parish in many roles.  He sought to pass on his faith and love of Jesus to all who knew him, especially his children and his grandchildren.

Gary had a great sense of humor and was always playing little tricks on everyone.   You could count on a phone call where he would pretend to be someone else.  His greatest legacy is his love for his family.   He loved to watch his family perform; whether it was a game, match or show.  Gary truly enjoyed spending time with them and he wanted to ensure that they were loved and that they would in turn, pass on that love to others.

We will miss him dearly; however, we are comforted to know that he has been reunited with Kathy.   Over the past year and a half he has missed her terribly and spoke of her often.  We are confident that the two of them are at the foot of Jesus praising and glorifying Him together.

A Visitation Service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St, Sylvania, OH.  The Funeral Service in memory of Gary will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10 am, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 5373 Main St, Sylvania, OH.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. 6382 Monroe St, Sylvania, OH.
