Edward Clark Creque, blessed throughout his 97 years, died comfortably on Sunday, September 18, 2016, while sitting in his favorite chair, watching football, with a supply of Butterfinger candy bars at hand. Born on 11-7-1918 to Edgar and Daisy May Clark Creque on the family farm, Edward "Dick" was a life long resident of Ottawa Lake, Michigan.

A farmer of few words and many talents, for years Dick served as a volunteer fireman, enjoyed bowling and golf, still watched golf and played cards regularly. He was a Big 10 Sports fan, and respecting all of the family's many rivalries among the ardent UM, MSU, OSU, and Indiana U fans, he donned the Blue, Green, Red and/or Gray as the need arose.

Happily married for 71 years to Betty Butz Creque, who preceded him in death October 4, 2009, he is survived by all 8 children, 4 daughters: Darlene Stansley, Carol Abdo, Mary Kim King, Michelle Donnelly, and 4 sons: Tom, Mike, Doug, and Rich. He fondly appreciated all of their spouses: Richard Stansley, Cy Abdo ( deceased in November 2005) Gary King MD, Chris Donnelly, Tom's Darlene Crots Creque, and Mike's Karen Roscoe Creque (deceased in September 2005). Together they blessed Dick and Betty with 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren, with 2 births pending. An infant in his lap never failed to bring a contented smile to Grampa, aka Poppy.

The entire family thanks dear friend Marcie Newmark, whose smile and cheerful optimism brightened his days at Kingston, and to the staffs at Kingston and Senior Independent Hospice who helped make his final years comfortable.

Friends may call at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N.Main St. Sylvania, OH on Friday,September 30, visitation from 10-12 noon, concluding with a brief memorial service. Guests are invited to join the family afterward for lunch at the Legacy Golf Club, 7677 US 223, Ottawa Lake, MI. A private burial will be at the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, in Sylvania, OH.
