Carol Ann (Harless) Schumaker was born, April 4, 1936, in Toledo, OH, to parents Ralph and Kathern (Schneider) Harless.  

Carol married William Ellis Schumaker in 1954, who was serving with the USN Reserves, and was employed with AT&T.

When the Navy activated William in 1957, they were both sent to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and resided on the base.

When they returned to civilian life in Toledo, she was soon employed with Society Bank. Over the years, and with several Bank Sponsored Finance Courses, Carol was promoted to Assistant Vice President. Then Society Bank became Key Bank. Carol, who was the Small Business Manager, was placed in charge of taking over the local Sylvania Bank, and setting up the finance center in their new building, plus managing to two other branch banks at the same time.

Most recently Carol has attended Westgate Chapel CMA where she served as Deaconess, and Sunday School Teacher. Carol also started a singles group for 50+ members in her home.

 When she was almost 40 years old Carol decided to enroll at Lourdes College of Sylvania where she graduated and served on their Board of Directors for several years.

Carol traveled the world learning about other cultures and, had many adventures, traveling to 80 countries.

Carol is survived by her caregiver and husband William, of more than 60 years; grandsons Shannon, Michael (Rachael) and Devon Schumaker; and great grandsons Braydyn and Braxtyn.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and son Douglas Schumaker.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, Ohio, Thursday, January 11th from 4 – 9 PM, Where Funeral Services will be held Friday January 12th   at 11 AM.

Those wishing to offer memorials, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider the Westgate Chapel.
