Name: SMITH, DEBI

From: Terry
Message: Sending you my deepest sympathy. My hope is that you find comfort and support in each other during this difficult time.

From: Nikki Schall-Plotner
Message: We lost a beautiful and beloved woman this week. Debi Smith touched so many lives with her congenial, loving nature, great humility, and witty sense of humor. Things always seemed better when Debi was around.

She was an inspiration to her children and to anyone who was lucky enough to know her. To me, she was an aunt and what she called a "birthday buddy". February 25th has been our special day for 29 years. Every year going forward, I will celebrate the precious time I shared with Debi and the values she instilled in me about caring for family.

Dearest Aunt Debi, I wish that you find peace amongst God's angels! May you finally be free from the wretchedness of suffering, and be softly embraced by the love that is all around you.

We will all miss you, sweetest Debi...

Nikki Schall-Plotner

From: Kathy, Ted, and Robin Radtke
Message: Our thoughts and prayers are with you today as you celebrate the life of Maureen's grandma. Please know that we are there with you in spirit, although miles are between us.

From: Ruth Flick and Family
Message: May you find peace knowing that Debbie is without pain and smiling down at you keeping you in her heart.

From: Peggy, Marcia, KEndra and Tanner (neighbors)
Message: Like the various colors of the sky in the setting sun, so are the loving memories we have of Deb! What a pleasure it has been to have gotten to know Deb- I know for sure the love she has for her children will continue to blow in the breezes, shine on your faces, giggle through the grandchildren and cleanse through your tears!

Please know that we are here for you. Anna, our door and arms are always open to you. Kendra will always remember your mom lovingly!

From: Rich and Barb Zablocki

I offer my heartfeilt sympathy to the family of Debi Smith. I am sure you will miss her. I was just getting to know her through church at Grace Lutheran. I will sincerely miss seeing her. I will pray for all of you that were close to her. I was overcome when I read todays paper and discovered she had passed. I will miss her pleasant personalty and good sense of humor. Know I am thinking of all of you.

Message: I'm so sorry for your loss. I graduated from high school with Debi and always remember her as a fun-loving person with a funny laugh! "Only the Good Die Young..."

From: Rose Flury
Message: Debi - my sweetest, dearest, best friend... For 34 years, since we met at 19, I've had the privilege of your special friendship. How I'll miss....our talks about life, work and relationships - heavy subjects as well as light, and a lot of laughs. I have wonderful memories of some of our day trips - to Lakeside (pretty much annually), Great Lakes Crossing/Canterbury Christmas Village, the Shipshewana flea market, Chicago during Heather and Steve's, and then Nikki and Chris' weddings, the American Indian Festival, the St. Catherine's festivals, etc. I can't begin to list all the fun things we've done through the years. You were so humble, thoughtful, generous, loving, fun-loving, and talented with cooking and crafts, always "going the extra mile" with holidays to make them extra special for the kids (and the adults)! You were so devoted to all family members, and opened your arms to our family (the Stawnys) as well (it was so fortunate when your brother married my sister for that is how we met)! I'll always remember the large gift platters of your assorted, delicious holiday cookies you passed out at Christmas time with love. Debi, I am so sorry you had to suffer so much with your illness - you, especially, did NOT deserve such a fate. You will be so deeply, deeply missed and you leave a lot of sad, broken hearts. My deep sympathy to Mike, your children and extended family members - I feel so sorry for all of us in the days and years ahead, having to live without you. Love, Rose

From: Heather Schall Sokasits (niece)
Message: Thank you for displaying your love for us and everyone around you by being present every day. Thank you also for being a quiet mentor through your selfless actions year after year. You lived your life with conviction and a respect for family that is rare to find today. Thanks to your influence in my life. I hope to imprint your way in my childrens' lives so that your kindness can live on. My only regret is that my daughter will not remember you. You will be deeply missed. Rest in peace my dear Aunt Debi!
