Our deepest sympathy to friends and family of Steve. I remember him most from simple, family times together as children in N.H., but will also think of the courage he must have had in facing challenges in more recent years. Steve, we wish you peace.
With love - Cousin Pam (Hall) & Chris Tierney, and family |

Steve was an inspiration, a truly kind and strong man. In the face of extreme duress, he'd shock me with his sparkle of hope and joy in life. Days out of his bike accident coma, he wrote, "I ordered a new bike frame. It's beautiful." No matter what was happening in his world, he ALWAYS asked about my son, my girls, my life.
We spoke only a few times in his last months, he, ever the motivator and selfless life coach...focused the topics on me, insisting, "the cancer is gone... tell me about Colton." He did speak at length about Daylene and his love for her. He was an incredible man I was blessed to have as my friend. And I thank Daylene for blessing him, caring for him, soothing him. |

Dear Ruane family and friends. I knew Steve through the cycling community here in Toledo. I took this photo of him with our mutual friend Tom Fall during a Christmas party at Bikeworks. His passion for cycling was like that in all his pursuits........full on! We were all amazed at his tenacity and courage these past few years. He will surely be missed. The best to you. God Bless!

Dear all,
although I knew that Steve had a vicious type of cancer I had hoped that he would manage to recover. This was not allowed to him. I will keep him in in my prayers and in my memory.
Sad but kind regards from Gelsenkirchen Barbara |

My deepest sympathy to Steve's family and friends. Steve and I worked together for many years in Batesville, Indiana. I will remember him for his wit, friendship and his adventurous nature. While we lost touch for several years, I learned of his bicycle accident and cancer a little over a year ago. I am saddened to learn of his passing. My prayers go out to his family. |
